June 2010, TEACH Academy, Portmouth Public Schools, Portsmouth VA
This day long workshop for School Media Specialist will serve as an introduction to using technology to reach Teens. We will cover why technology and social media are important not just for aiding in traditional literacy but for the expanding number of literacies required to be an active participant in today’s world. The workshop will look at successful practices, suggest new possibilities and include some hands-on creativity time.

Thanks for all the resources you shared with us. I know what I will be doing this summer (besides reading tons of new YA books). Your workshop helped me to focus on a few tools to try this summer. Some days I feel like I am at a buffet…overwhelmed with choices..ending up with the same stuff on my plate..not trying the new entrees. Many thanks for igniting my palate! RFB
